You may have read my past posts and already know about how I had a stent put in my ureter after a scary kidney infection while I was 19 weeks pregnant. It has been painful and uncomfortable and my OB and the urologist finally gave me their blessing to have it removed, which I did yesterday. It was supposed to stay in until post-partum, but it only got worse as baby started pushing (and kicking) down on my bladder more and more. I can’t wait to feel more normal again within the next day or so.
I’m just feeling so thankful to my husband and mom especially who have been super awesome over the past (almost) 3 months. Other family members and friends have been great too. I had to work from home, and even then I hardly left my couch. I’m really looking forward to going out for walks around my new neighborhood and enjoying the beautiful autumn weather. Maybe I’ll even be able to run a little bit too.
Rest has definitely been a priority the past week, which is fine. The body needs rest! Stay tuned to see how I do and the workouts I do going forward 🙂
Today I received an email notifying me that I’m a Sweat Pink Ambassador. Sweat Pink is a community of inspirational, fitness-oriented women where connections and mutual support can blossom as we each strive to reach goals in health and fitness. I’m super excited!
So in my last post I mentioned that I was getting ready to go to a cousin’s birthday lunch…well, it turned out to be my surprise baby shower. It was such a fun, memorable day surrounded by some of the women that will definitely be playing a big part in Baby Hicky’s life. All the gifts we got were just so thoughtful and awesome. I had a hard time sleeping Sunday night thinking of how real everything feels. Baby will be here so soon!
Here’s a quick little at home WOD I’ll be doing tonight:
20 bicep curls
10 lateral raises
20 front squats
30 sec wall sit
30 sec plank
I might do 4 rounds of this but feel free to do more if you’re feeling up to it 🙂
Happy Sunday! This little big bump is now 30 weeks-yay! It’s been a long week of working, learning and not a lot of working out- but that’s ok! My husband and I took a CPR class earlier in the week and yesterday we went to an all-day childbirth class at the hospital where I’ll be delivering Baby Hicky. They definitely helped in making me feel a little more reassured that I can do this 🙂
I did make it to CrossFit on Wednesday and did the following WODs:
5 rounds of:
10 single arm DB snatches (15#)
100 meter row
Then after a break, 5 rounds of:
12 ring rows
12 box dips
10 back lunges (45#)
I’m now about to get ready to go celebrate my cousin’s birthday so I think I’ll take another day off from working out…or I might do a quick 10 minute circuit before I jump in the shower 🙂
Hi guys! I haven’t posted in a while so I wanted to say hi quickly and share my workout from yesterday 🙂
I used my 8# dumbbells and did 3 rounds of:
40 side bends
10 push presses
16 side lunges
I’m currently 29 weeks, peeing all the time and not getting much sleep. But this little guy has me soo in love, I don’t even mind 🙂
This weekend I got to be Godmother to my best friend’s baby girl, Alexia. She was so good the whole time – didn’t fuss at all! I hope Baby Hicky is like that ! If you follow on Instagram you can check out some of the photos from the weekend.
I really need to get cracking with decorating my house. I’m loving Joss & Main for really beautiful and mostly affordable home goods. I just ordered rugs for my bedroom as well as a gorgeous chandelier print for above my bed. Can’t wait til they get here so I can share the photos.
I was just thinking about my first half marathon 4 years ago in Seaside Heights…It was an awesome, kinda crazy experience that led me to run 8 more half marathons and 2 full marathons. And I’m not planning on stopping. 2016 races, I’m coming for ya!
Fall is a great time to kick it up a notch. The weather is more pleasant, the colors are beautiful- it just makes you want to get outside. Unfortunately I’m stuck indoors 99% of the time, but if you’re not in the same boat as I am, you should definitely be doing some outdoor workouts including running 🙂
Last night at CrossFit we did one of the benchmark WODs, Cindy. Although I feel like it should be renamed “Frank” because my husband loooves it and is constantly trying to get more reps every time he does it.
It consists of a 20 minute AMRAP of 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, and 15 air squats.
I used rubber bands for the pull-ups, but you can also do ring rows if you can’t do pull-ups. I also did push-ups on my knees.
It’s all body-weight but man, you’re feeling out of breath by the 5th round with all that metabolic conditioning!
So these are my last few days in my 2nd trimester…I can’t sleep very well and I’m starting to get anxious about getting stuff done around the house before baby’s arrival. Ahh!
